Still unconfirmed of what had caused the death. Heart attack?

News claim he is to be burried on Friday afternoon.

What exactly is the tomb controversy in Islam? I have heard that quite a number of important tombs in Saudi are controversial?

The fear is that tombs, houses and masajid dedicated to important people will lead to worship of those people. As such, the Saudi monarchs have imposed orders to destroy numerous Islamic sites within the kingdom. Sometimes they even completely pave over and put up downright disrespectful replacements. For example, the house of Khadija, Muhammad's first wife, was demolished and replaced with a public restroom.

Of course, the monarchs have readily put up numerous shopping malls and hotels right outside the Kaaba.

To be fair, from what I have seen of the burials of the recent monarchs they are relatively simple. However, I suspect he will have an elaborate state funeral.

I thought he was hospitalized out of a wind-enter illness

That is a shame! A public restroom is a bad choice yet a very insulting replacement for this Islamic heritage site. I heard about shopping malls and hotels being constructed outside the Kaaba. Actually, a room in a hotel or appartment in a historic area may cost up to $500 per night! And sure is in or near Mecca, where the Kaaba is located.

Just out of curiosity, is the Saudi monarchy so beloved of the people that their worship is a real possibility? I know it sounds leading, but it's an honest question.
