Very good . We need to start complaining a little , so Kantor Imigrasi will think twice before asking this document just because they don't rely much on marriage certificates and on their interview process .

• Just an update:

I picked up my husband's kitas today. Paid 1,855,000. MERP Included.
Next is applying for SKTTS & STM at Polres.

Do I go to Polres Jakarta Utara or any Polres? Thanks

• According to Atlantis, you don't need the STM anymore: http://www.livinginindonesiaforum.or...l=1#post370682

You shouldn't need the SKTT either, if you're living in Jakarta. See here: http://www.expat.or.id/info/docs.html#SKPPS
(UPDATE: Only true if you're working. Thanks Jstar.)

• Hey Indo2000, thanks for the info but im confused because the lady at immigration said i need SKTTS for future purposes. I will need that letter to be present to renew the ITAS. Can you redirect me to other thread about this? or only the two above you have posted? thanks!

• Sorry Cynthiag, I can't give you any other info. Usually, it's best to go along with the people at the immigration office, even if they're wrong.

No STM, no SKLD.

But SKTT? I heard differently (working KITAS).

• SKLD: abrogated
STM issued by PLRI: abrogated

SKTT: legally mandatory

Correct as per December 17th, 2014

• Thanks for helping guys! Just one last question, where do I go to get the SKTT? Is it Catatan Sipil? And can I use my ojek guy to go there on my behalf or have to do it myself? Thank you!

• Yes, Catatan Sipil. You can use the driver for part of it, but there are papers to sign.

As sponsor, you need to go there, and you need to show your original ID.
Bring your KTP, and KK & marriage certificate (in case asking)
Surat Permohonan from sponsor (in my area only needed for 1st SKTT)
Surat Keterangan Domisili (can use photocopy from the original submitted for KITAS/KITAP application)
Photocopy your husband's passport BIO page and the ITAS page and KITAS card.
husband's photo X2 (in my area now they also take add'l digital photo in Catatan Sipil too)

• Always take everything (incl. pics) and photocopies (2). With everything I even mean copies of birth certificate and marriage certificate. This is not only for Catatan Sipil but for most administrations here btw. It's very frustrating to be sent away if one tiny thing that they consider vital (since it is a Thursday), is missing. And those discussions are useless; better have it.

I've never heard that the sponsor needs to attend. My wife has never been to Catatan Sipil. I've been through 4 KITAS and a KITAP. Some were arranged by my Father-in-law, some by me, by my wife doesn't even know where the Catatan Sipil building is.

Martindo, I know where it is... (near Riau Junction) I was responding to a post where it was said the sponsor would need to attend. My wife/sponsor has never been there. I take care of it myself, or my father-in-law does it. I've never heard that the sponsor needs to attend.
